Congratulations to the Halfway FC Second team, who achieved promotion on the 13th of April after an eventful 5-2 win over St. Mary and St. John’s Celtic. Despite conceding two soft penalties, a Dutton goal just on the stroke of half time, immediately cancelling out Celtics deserved equalizer, proved the key moment, and Halfway were never again in danger of letting the match slip.
A special mention for Baron Shrimpy himself, Phil Morris, who finally managed to find the net after spending an entire season looking about as dangerous as a plastic coat-hanger. Not only that, but he proved the old adage to be true, that goals are like London busses, by scoring his second of the season shortly after. Phil, if you’re reading this, please go 7 months before your next goal. It would be really funny.
They now move into the Sutton And District Premier Division, highlghting the success of the Simmonds - Biddle partnership in its debut season in charge. However, if Simmonds continues attempting to maim his players, it remains to be seen if 11 will be fit or alive to begin next season.

At 7:30, 6th of June, at Boldmere St Michaels FC, Halfway FC will hold its presentation night. It will be a race night, and entry will be free, although horses will be available for purchase priced £5 each. That sum will give you the naming rights to the horse, so long as it is family friendly! Hopefully everyone associated with the club will be there to congratulate the Players of the Season and show sympathy for the Clubman of the Year.

On the 17th of May, Cup Final day, Halfway FC will be going up to Manchester to play against a local team, known ominously as the Brickmakers. They might be quite hard, being Mancs and all. The game will provisionally be played on the pitch that England trained on before their dismal performance away to Russia in the Euro 2008 qualifiers… you know the one, the only full sized artificial pitch in England that meets FIFA standards for international football. It’s at Manchester Grammar School just north of Fallowfield if memory serves. Then, at full time, we will board a coach and watch the cup final in Altrincham, before returning to the Halfway later that evening.
The cost of the day is £15 per person to cover coach travel, pitch hire and Rappo’s backhander, payable to Rappo himself. We’ll be leaving on the coach at 9:30am from the Halfway Car park and we should be back by Midnight.

Welcome to the on-line home of Four Oaks finest football team… and also of the 1st XI that represents the same pub!
Halfwayfc.com will be your first stop for details on upcoming events, fixtures, results, match reports, various news items of interest and obscene demands for money from Rappo.
The difficult part of the process is now complete; finding a host, setting up the page, making it look nice and finding funding. In the next week or so existing match reports, links to up to date league tables, squad profiles and a forum will all be added to the shell you see here, so keep checking back.
Enjoy your weekend,
BJx
